Discover the history of WorldTop ESN and the Erasmus Student Network

Creation of WorldTop ESN

WorldTop ESN is a Clermont-Ferrand-based organization that welcomes and socially includes international students. It offers multiple activities for foreign students studying in Clermont-Ferrand. The association is formed of French students, but also foreign students from all over the world, with a common aim:  helping to the inclusion of everyone.

The association was founded in 2005, when Bernard Fenal, retired from the Michelin company, had the idea to create a group to help the welcome of international students by sharing dinners and organizing meetings between internationals and Clermont-Ferranders.

Today, the association organizes many activities to allow students to experience the best mobility possible, but also to accompany them throughout their mobility. The team is also present to solve any problem faced : language barrier, integration, administrative problems,...

WorldTop becomes WorldTop ESN

WorldTop ESN is one of the 37 local sections of ESN France. Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a network which brings together associations capable of welcoming and integrating international students and promoting international mobility.

ESN is present in 42 european countries, in cities where universities and international exchanges are significant. At the european level, ESN international counts more than  and represent more than 540 associations and 15,000 volunteers. The principle of students helping others students is vital for the ESN. Volunteers are mostly former international students who have developed a willingness to help others.

It's in 2010 that WorldTop decides to join the ESN, with the desire to exchange with associations having the same values. These exchanges can take place in different ways, by mail or national/international meetings between ESNers. ESN also represents new ideas, projects, and belonging to an international network that works hard to ensure better mobility for international students.
